Automate 2024 Demo: Doosan Robotics’ Mixmaster Moodie

Doosan Robotics’ Mixmaster Moodie is an innovative bartending solution showcased at Automate 2024 in Chicago. WTWH Media senior editor Gary Cohen takes it for a test drive.

Doosan Robotics’ Mixmaster Moodie is an advanced collaborative robot solution designed to enhance the customer experience by using a combination of artificial intelligence and sophisticated robotics. Mixmaster Moodie is powered by Microsoft’s Azure Open AI ChatGPT and features Bridgestone’s “Tetote” soft robotics gripper, which enables precise and fluid movements for creating the perfectly crafted cocktail.

Mixmaster Moodie’s key feature is the ability to create personalized drinks based on the user’s mood. The kiosk’s camera captures the faces of up to four people and analyzes their emotions using AI technology. It then recommends different cocktail recipes based on their emotions and changes the surrounding environment to match their emotions. It uses computer vision technology to analyze the customer’s face, and can detect up to seven emotions: neutral, happy, sad. angry, fearful, disgusted, and surprised. Mixmaster Moodie then recommends a cocktail based on that analysis, which is then prepared by the collaboration of a Doosan Robotics A0509 (mixing the drink) and an E0509 (garnishing the drink and serving).
